At 5:00 p.m. today, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) Northeast of Batanes has developed into a Tropical Depression and was named "GORING".
Tropical Depression "Goring" is estimated based on satellite and surface data at 400 kms North Northeast of Basco, Batanes (24.2°N, 123.8°E ) with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center.
Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said that Tropical Depression "Goring" will continue to enhance Southwest Monsoon which will bring occasional rains over Luzon becoming frequent over the western section.
A Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated at 320 kms East of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur (08.0°N, 129.5°E).
