Red or white, Americans are passionate about their wines. Last week during Christie’s fine-wine auction in Geneva, a 1945 Romanée Conti sold for a record-breaking amount. The investor was a private U.S. collector who paid a whopping € 87,000 ($123,900) for a bottle of Burgundy. A little bit of research about this particular wine revealed that only 600 bottles of wines were produced during the end of World War II, before the outbreak of phylloxera. So what do you do with this most expensive bottle of wine? Of-course you save it for the next occasion.
